Any way to render an email address as a clickable link in a report?

I've created an exception type report where the normal next action is to send an email to the person with the exception. In Excel, I have the hyperlink function where I can create a clickable link which has a preconfigured subject and short intro to which I append data from the report, so that the process is expedited. It makes the visualization feel more interactive and places it at the center of the workflow.

Is there some way to do this in PowerBI Designer report? I built a formula to do this but it renders as plain text. There's no HTML column type that I can see.

For example:

Hi @Anonymous, I have pbix with RLS and working fine at service workspace but when i posted to MS Teams , seems the RLS is not working. is power bi supporting RLS at Teams ? is there any turnaround to work on the same? is power bi team working on to enable this mechnism in coming update ? Pls advice.

HI, it looks like hyperlink support will be available from 24th July

Hyperlinks are coming in July but won't work for mailto:// links, only for http or https.

As WillT pointed out, we're adding this to our backlog for a subsequent update.

As mailto links are now availaible, is there a way to have the body of the message populate with interactive data from the report?

Wouldn't the data categorization feature enable this? http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Designer/Data-Categorization/m-p/364#U364 Marking the column as web url might be all that is needed.
