Hi,
I am using Analyze in Excel for some reports on the service to create pivots and send to customers. Some reports are taking forever to create a pivot whilst others arent taking too long. I am getting the 'running OLAP query' message at the bottom of excel. Is there any way to speed this process up? Can we stop refreshing the data each time a field is added to the pivot?
Thanks
Yasir
If the connectivity to the Power BI Service is good, problem can be the way you are using the Analyze in Excel.
Are you downloading the ODC file? Or are you using the plug in for Power BI Publisher for Excel? https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-dashboard-publisher/.
I prefer the Power BI Publisher for Excel, because it allows you to connect to the different sources possibly also be a bit quicker. If it is still slow the problem might the model your are using, my suggestion would be optimizing the model before you work with power bi service.

@V-pazhen-msft I am using Analyze in Excel. My power bi reports on the service are running fast. Its only when the dataset is brought into excel, for some reports this is taking too long to drag a field into a pivot column.
