Analyze in Excel does not login

Hi,

we deployed a project (which requires Analyze in Excel connection with RLS).

When working on our test enviroment or our customer servers everything works fine, but when we try to execute the "excel login" on the end user's laptops it keeps popping up the "login request".

-When we try with a wrong password, it recognizes the error.

-Some of these laptops are factory new, with no antivirus, firewalls, etc.

-It does the same even with the simplest report on the simplest dataset

-Office is updated at the last version. OS, Connection Drivers and Excel are installed with the same 32/64 version.

-Excel loops in asking the credentials, you cannot cancel or close it.

Is there a port we need to check just for the login phase?

Thanks,

r

These users have PowerBI Pro accounts. We spend many hours on this, but we finally found a turnaroud.

Inside excel connection string we found a piece of string "MSOLAP.8", and we tried to change it with:

-MSOLAP

or

-MSOLAP.7

Hi @robpiu,

Do those end users have Power BI accounts? Do you mean they failed to create a connection to Power BI service or failed to log in Excel? Please post the error message here or post the screenshot.

Please try to update your Excel OLE DB provider libraries to the latest version.

Besides, please check below threads, whether the problem is similar to yours:

Analyze in excel system error

analyze in excel
