Has anyone else found that If you direct Import into a Power BI reports from Azure Analysis Services Database the dates come through as Text. This means that you have to change them in Power Query. However you cant use Native Query on Date changes so this then doesnt happen on the SQL Side
Is there any way of making sure that the dates come through as dates in Import (Apparently its fine as Direct Query)
I am not sure about Azure but we Direct Import all our reports from on premisis SSAS cubes and everything is always as text and needs to be updated to appropriate data types. You only have to do it the first time you set it up though.
Thats good to know.
The people that are having the issue say that they dont want to have to change to dates in Power BI Because it keeps crashing. But I dont have any more on it than that. I imagine its just something that needs fixing because it was missed
Try to specify MDX or DAX query.
Im sorry I dont know what you mean?
