Ambiguous paths in conception

Hello !

I currently have a Sales fact table I can analyse through by many axis, among which Date and Country, but I want to add an axis that would allow me to analyze the sales depending on the Marketing Campaign that was running when and where the sale was made.

Here's the conception I currently have :

But I get an error message telling me that there are ambiguous paths between Marketing Campaign and my Sales table. I can see why, but I can't quite figure out how I could solve this without directly linking it with my fact table (which I'm trying to avoid since this is a simplified version and in reality I'd have to modify 10 different fact tables to link them).

Is there any way I can achieve this conception ? I currently have a many to one link between MC and Country/Date (filter on both tables), as well as a many to one link between Sales and Country/Date (filter on Sales).

Thanks in advance,

Nossair

@Anonymous , Make sure joins are single direction 1- M from Date or Country to Sales or Marketing Campaign.

Bi-Directional join's can create a loop, hence this error

Hi @amitchandak ,

When you're talking about 1-N / bidirectional, are you talking about the cardinality of the relationship or the direction of the filter ?

Thanks,

Nossair

Hi @Anonymous

"1- M" ——> one to many😃, i.e.  the cardinality of the relationship
