All Hours Slicer

Hello,

 

I have the following column with values:

 

Column_HOURS

00

03

05

07

09

10

13

22

 

And I want to create two slicers where I can select from these values:

01

02

03

04

05

06

07

08

09

10

11

12

13

14

15

16

17

18

19

20

21

22

23

 

Then, when I select from the two slicers the values:

Slicer1 -> 00

 

Slicer2 -> 09

 

...should filter the results in my reports to show all between hour 00 and 09, meaning 

00

03

05

07

09

 

without 

 

10

13

22

 

 

Since BI does not have this feature to filter at hour level I need to do this somehow, not having only the existing hours in the table, but all, as I mentioned before.

 

Can someone help me with this?

Hi @NewbiePowerBye

If i understand you right, you want to filter the column to show between two specific values.

Does "Column_HOURS" column and column with value from 01 to 23 exsit on the same table? How are they related?

As far as I known, if the "Column_HOURS" column is in number type, you can use a "between" slicer.

If the "Column_HOURS" column is in text type, you can create in index column to detemine rank, then use the index column ti the "between" slicer.

Hello Maggie,

 

The initial example  was a possible scenario I imagined to actually do something else.

 

The main plan is to have one or two filters(on a Date Column) in order to select to show me the data during a certain interval, which should include hours, minutes, seconds.

 

Right now I can only use the default slicer, use it as 'Between' and then I can select two dates and the data is shown included in that interval selected. 

 

But, for example, I don't only want to be able to see the data between 6/28/2018 & 6/29/2018, but between: 6/28/2018 07:00:00 A.M. & 6/29/2018 07:00:00 A.M. and so on with different times as needed...

 

Is there any way I can achieve this?
