Adding in real time data to a report that uses a data set

So I have a reprt that connects to a data set.
I want to add some comments omn the report such as "Sales data is late", "Buget looks to be a little high" etc

I had planned to store the file in Sharepoint but cant see a way to have a direct query to this one file? I want this to be real time so users can note what they can see is wrong and log it and the other users can see what is wrong and not raise more and more support calls.

Can't see an easy way to do this.

This would be really usefull
Thanks

Hi @ells,

I check the document but not found any related feature to integrate or expand usages of this feature. Perhaps you can try to use activity log to trace these operations to getting correspond information.

Hi,

not sure what you are saying. Why would I look at activity log. This is a design question.
I want to be able to add some commentary during the day and for that to appear at random times during the day.
I think an additional data set may be an answer. Power Apps may be an answer. Any way to write back and the results to show instantly may be an answer.

The end point is the users have somewhere to see the status of their reports but not just automated data like refresh times but also some comment from a human. This needs to be instant data like a push data set.

Thanks

E

Hi @ells,

I mean current power bi does not mentions where these commons stored and how to interact with report comments.

After I checked related documents, I find power bi activity log will records this type of operations.

For this scenario, I’d like recommend you try to use power automate trace data from the activity log API and use it to design apps to shows on report side.
