Add data from two different data soruces in same visual

Hi everyone

I have two tables from different data sources. Data Source 1 has the data of completed sales in USD, and Data Source 2 has the data for the Closed Won where the end date is within this year. How do i combine this data into one visual? I am using the stacked collumn chart. there are a realtion between the tabels throgh a different date table.

Hi @AmandaSoborg

Can you be a little more specific. For instance, what is the relationship? Based on date or something.

Because if that is the case, just drag the values from both the datasources into values, and the axis has te be one of the dates.

If you need more help, put some screenshots on the post, makes helping a lot easier

Hi @miltenburger

I have created a DimDate Table like this; https://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/4857/creating-a-date-dimension-table-in-power-bi/

I then have two other tables, gathers from SalesForce and BW. The BW table is connected to the DimDate table, so that this can show 2016, and 2017 YTD, descreibed as in this post; https://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/4841/calculating-mtd-qtd-ytd-running-and-cumulative-total-in-...

This I have no problmen with protraying.

Then, I have another table; The SalesForce Table. This tabel is connected with the DimDAte Table, also on date (of first delivery).

So both tables are connected through the same 'Date' columnin the DimDate Table. When I use the DimDate[Date] column as the axis, I do not have a problem when creating two seperate visuals of the Stacked Column Chart. But when I use both the BW and the SalesForce Table, with the DimDate[Date] as axis, it cannot show me the values.

Unfortunally I cannot provide screenshots, as the project is confidential 🙂

I hope, that you can help me anyway 🙂

@AmandaSoborg,

Do you have relationships created between thoses tables? If the relationships were created success, than you can use Append or Merge queries to add your data into one table, and then you can use the data in that table in your visual.
