Active Directory Expanding Record Performance Issues

I have an AD tree loaded into Power BI. When I first loaded the domain in Power BI, the refresh speed was super fast. It loaded all 105k rows in seconds. Once I "expanded" a couple of "Records" the speed slowed down to an insanely slow refresh speed. I mean...the difference between seconds and a few hours.

Is there a way, using DAX or PowerQuery or anything at all, to pull data from a "Record" without expanding the "Record"?

For example: I would like to get the value of computer.cn without expanding the "Computer" column "Record".

Expanding the "Record" seems to create a massive performance issue.

Hi @TylerHodges,

If you expand all "records", the data will be very large and there will be many duplicate values so the performance will worse.

You could expand the specific record you need rather than all records.

For your requirement to pull data from a "Record" without expanding the "Record", I'm afraid that we may not achieve that in Power BI currently.

Best Regards,

Cherry
