Hello everybody,
I read many posts about Sharepoint connection in this forum...
No one related (and solved) my problem.
I want import datas froma XLS files which is on a Sharepoint site (I am allowed - I'm able to work on these files on Sharepoint).
I put the URL on the adress bar (the adress of the site, not the adress of the folder which have the files - why?), it ask me my username and password...and "access denied"...do you know why?
What do I do wrong? It misses something?
Hi bapt69,
According to your description, when connecting to Excel file published in SharePoint site and typing credential, the “Access denied” error throws out, right?
In your scenario, you mentioned you have access permission to Excel, but it doesn’t mean that you have permission to access the site exactly. You can type the site URL in browser to see if you are able to access.
To get Excel data, you can ask SharePoint administrator grant you permission to access the folder which contains the Excel file. Then you can type URL which points to the folder in Power BI.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
Best regards,
Qiuyun Yu
Hello, thanks for your answer
I have the permission to access the entire fold (not the entire site).
I try with a site which I have the permission (I think I have) and I get the same message.
So, I try with an other way...I used "Web" instead of "Sharepoint"...and it's good!! All is updated too when I modifiy a data.
