Access Database Query - The key doesn't match any rows in the table

Hello,

I've tried searching the forum but can't find an answer to this question, apologies if I've missed it.

I have a pbix file set up with several links to various Access database queries. Some (but not all) are throwing the key doesn't match error when I try to refresh the data. The queries are fine, they run fine in Access, none of the field names have changed and there are no errors in the data the queries return. Sometimes it affects some queries, sometimes it's other queries, and most of the time the error seems to sorts itself out after lots of faffing around not really doing anything.

I'm wondering if power BI is locking the databases, and locking itself out of the queries. Is that possible? We are having no end of Access issues since we moved to Office 365 (but that's probably another post for another forum!), so i don't know if it's a power BI issue or an Access issue, or something I've done wrong.

Is there a better way to pull data out of Access? Is it possible to just pull the data in then cut the connection, similar to an ADO VBA script in Excel?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

Hi @dedancey ,

Have you checked if something is renamed or deleted in you datasources? Or can you share some screenshots around the issue please? This is not helping much.

Add error screesnhot as well which you are facing.

Best Regards,

Yuna

Thanks for the response, but as I said above, I've already checked all the names. Nothing has changed in terms of the names of the queries or the names in the field.

Thanks for the response. I looked over both yesterday, but they didn't answer the question of what's causing the issue with linking to Access queries.
