API

Hello people,

I have a question to connect to the API.

A passkey is requested to access the API, would that key be the token?

Hi @WillasBruno ,

Maybe you can try to use "Basic credentials" ?

Good aftemon @v-lionel-msft ;

Unfortunately that way you are asked for an email and password. And the company doesn't know what it is. Is there another way through the Token that I can be using?

Try using the anonymous or basic authentications. If that does not work, you would need to find the password or token you are speaking of.

Good morning @bfernandez ,

This "key" that Power BI asks for, is what? This is my question, is it the Token?

That should be where you enter the key.

Have you tried the anonymous yet?

Steps:

  • Click Get Data
  • Click Web
  • Click Advanced
  • Enter entire query string with parameters
  • Enter API Key and Value as a header
  • Click Connect
  • Select "Anonymous"
    • You should not click "API Key"

Good afternoon,

I did this procedure in anonymous, but I was unsuccessful when I performed the update.

My question is where do I find this key in azure? And what would she be?

Hi @WillasBruno ,

Maybe you can refer to the articles:

Hi @WillasBruno

You need to specify the request header using the advanced feature of the Web data source.

api.png

If it uses a Bearer token, you must select the Authorization from the dropdown then in the text box to the right, input:

Bearer [token]

Good afternoon Bfernandez,

In the authorization part I would place the token?

Do you speak portuguese?

No sorry, I only speak english and Spanish.

But it should look like this:

Good afternoon @bfernandez,

Unfortunately, after a while, I am unable to perform the automatic update and this Power BI message appears:

"The 'Authorization' header supports only an anonymous connection. These headers can be used with all types of authentication: Accept, Accept-Charset, Accept-Encoding, Accept-Language, Cache-Control, Content-Type, If- Modified - since, Prefer, Range, Referrer "

Could you help me?
