ADDCOLUMNS - Multiple columns cannot be converted to a scalar value.

Hi Guys,

I have create a table ('Calculation') in order to calculate the number of SUBMITTED scoping PER DAY.

I made the calculation:

Calculation = groupby('Report','Report'[date],'Report'[Scoping Status],"Submitted Scoping",(COUNTX(CURRENTGROUP(),'Report'[Scoping Status])))

I isolated the SUBMITTED scoping

Sum = if('Calculation'[Report_Scoping Status]="submitted",'Calculation'[Submitted Scoping],0)

Now I want to take back those numbers in a column of the 'Report'. To do so I used a ADDCOLUMNS formula:

Final Calculation = ADDCOLUMNS('Calculation',"calculation",'Calculation'[Sum]).

I have an error message that I don't understand:

"The expression refers to multiple columns. Multiple columns cannot be converted to a scalar value."

Could you please help me ?

Thanks,

Chloé.

Hi Chloé,

If there is a relationship between these two tables, you can try the formula below. Or please share a sample.

Final Calculation = calculate(sum('calculation'[Sum]))

Best Regards,
Dale

If Sum is a column then you are going to have issues with your ADDCOLUMNS formula because you need to pick an aggregation for columns that you reference, like SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, etc.

Thanks !

So how can I rappatriate my numbers back in a column of the 'Report' ?

Do you have any idea ?

Not really sure, I'm not getting a good picture of your source data and what you are trying to accomplish. Tough to reconstruct all that from just a couple formulas.
