A new column has been added to the database. How to make power bi recognize this new column?

It can be as easy as just refreshing your data or as complex as adjusting your queries, especially the steps that include column names, like type changes, reordering or selecting columns, grouping, (un)pivoting etcetera.

And you may want to add the new column in (some of) your visuals.

And you may need to republish your dashboards.

In other words: it's hard to say from just a oneliner question.
