99% data read only but...

Experts,

I am wondering if I can use Power BI report for our below requirement.

This is about integration between PowerBI and D365 F & O.

  • 99% data what we need to display is read only and one of these fields is a item cost
  • we will need to select a record on the PowerBI report and transfer the item cost on a sales line and I am not sure if this is something possible on the PowerBI report

Note that there are multiple records on the PowerBI and we want cost from a specific selected record.

Regards

-Rahul

Hi Tom/Amit,

Thank you for taking a time review my requirement and sharing the additional information.

Let me try to explain the exact requirement.

In D365 on a sales quotation line, we would introduce a button to open up the PowerBI report.

User will select one of these records and get the cost from that record on a sales quotation line in D365.

My question is: it it possible to feed the information back to D365 sales quotation line for the selected record on the Power BI report?

Regards

-Rahul

@rahulshah_ce , Not sure I got it. But seems like you are looking for Rest API to take data back

Hey @rahulshah_ce ,

I have to admit that I do not understand what you are trying to achieve. For this reason, I have to ask for a more detailed explanation of what you want Power BI to do.

I don't know if you are aware of this site: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/guided-learning/

Regards,

Tom
