I'm trying to create a report which besides all the usual graphs etc also shows a 3D model of the building which the data comes from. And so when I filter and select the model reacts accordingly. But I really have no idea on how to start, I've never done something like this in Power BI before.
I found this report but have no idea on how it was done: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Data-Stories-Gallery/Power-BI-Report-Using-BIM-Model-with-VCAD-Cust...
Any ideas on how to do something similar?
Thanks
@amitchandak Thank you for the reply and links.
I was hoping maybe there was some "lite" version of this that doesn't have a monthly costs, like using the native Power BI visuals.
Alternatively/worst case perhaps a gallery of images corresponding to a filter?
Hi @Anonymous ,
As far as I know, currently there is no bulit-in visuals in power bi to create 3D models. I would suggest you to consider third-party-cooperation visual like VCARD, although it is charged, you can try it for 10 days free.
You can also refer this similar issue: 3D lines visualization
In addition, if you want a built-in visual in power bi to create 3D models, you can submit the requirement to ideas and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas
It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
