+ 0 but only in date range

So i am trying to construct a chart that represents the total hours of work that will be available for the company in the future. Each set of hours has a received date and the data is organized by day. I am using a date hierarchy to display the data over the next six months for the company.

With that said, some months do not have any hours, but when putting on a line chart, by default, months with no Value do not show up on the graph: the date hierarchy being considered a continuous variable, the line continues from the last month with data to the ext month with data. I have tried using the +0 technique to the measure, but for some reason the graph comes out looking like this:

Overall, this is what i am looking for. It shows the zeros for months with no values BUT it completely skews the charts. My Date range is for the dates received is 9/27 - 3/27 (page filter), but it is showing 0's all the way back to January 2018 and as far as November 2019. This is also after i set the year in the hiearchy >= 2018 (visual filter). Without this second filter, it would extend all the way back to 2013.

How can i use this +0 idea (or anything else) to only show zeros for values in the date range?

Thank you.

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you share a dummy sample of your data? It could depend on your data structure and the data.

Best Regards,
