Power BI - Queensland Crimes What-If

    ‎08-29-2017 11:02 PM

I have used the data that is available from the Queensland Police Website and put it into Power BI.

Then what I did was to create a What-If Parameter which is based on how many years back you want to go, and then compare the Crime from the What-If Parameter until today.

So for example you could compare what the Crime was like 10 years ago, comparing it to today and then getting a % change. Almost all the visuals use the % change except for the Line Chart which show the total crimes. This is so that as the report consumer you can quickly see how the crime has changed.

I have also put in a Slicer so that if you are from Queensland or want to filter a particular area you can see how crime has changed over time by using the What-If Parameter.

There are some really interesting details based on different area's as well as on different years. I do hope that people will find this as great insights into how you can leverage data and using the What-If parameter.
