THE STORY BEHIND THE REPORT
My band joined a regional top 10 chart after releasing an album. The chart is called Cener and it is organized by a local radio station. The rules are simple:
This last rule is obviously a problem (from a technical point of view) and some were hasty to go around it. Naturally, there were sudden jumps in vote numbers and it was hard to track who was playing fair and who was using scripts. At this point I have decided to build an automated tracking system, something like a very simple fraud detection dashboard. We have been collecting data for over a month.
At the end of week 5 things escalated and the results were shown publicly with all the bands and the organizer being tagged in the post. The result (week 6 voting) is very amusing because a sudden drop in votes appeared 🙂
