Created for #MakeoverMonday 2020 week 17, this dash features the built-in Forecasting in the analytics pane. I am pleased with the way I can play with the parameters, and grateful to @lukaszp and his video on Data Made Good, @Bielite Parker Stevens and his video at Power BI Elite as well as @balsamoma and her blog. I wish that MSPBI documentation had all the specs on this really sweet feature in one place. I also wish MSPBI would provide more details about the mechanisms of the forecast
If you read this I would love to hear your vote on which page does a better job of conveying forecast - either the main viz or the hindsight. Any other feedback would be much appreciated too!
Here is the pbi version side by side with the tableau. I'm not sure why the exponential smoothing results differ between the two forecasts. Tableau does provide extensive diagnostics that I missed in PBI.
