    Hey Amanda! Great report!

I would love to try something like this. How did you get all the Netflix view activity data?

In their account settings, they have a "Viewing Activity" button, which is what I used. It takes you to a page where you can download your entire viewing history as a csv. It's actually a lot easier than it used to be. I used to have to keep clicking "show more" until it all loaded and copy/paste the results out 🙂

    Thanks Amanda!

Yes I downloaded my Viewing Data from Netflix. But that .csv file just had two columns: 'Title' and 'Date'.

As I had few records, I manually entered the Genre and Duration fields. (But that's not the most optimal solution to do it right?)

I was wondering how you got the '#of Times Watched","Genre" and "Time Watched(min) data for your report.

Below is the snippet of the report that I prepared.Netflix Stats.PNG

For that I used this API since Netflix won't give you that information: https://www.omdbapi.com/

IMDB and Netflix don't always use the same name for shows and movies so I did need to do some data cleansing to get everything to align perfectly.

    Nice report!

But you see now why the relative date slicer is INSUFFICIENT!

If I want to select a SPECIFIC date or date range - I cannot do it...

This is so common scenario with my users.

We should be able BOTH -

    1. To specify a default member in a slicer (and not only relative, but any defalt member using DAX)

    2. Allow the users with simple click to choose any selection they like from the same slicer

    Please make it happen!

Here is the IDEA to voteon:

    Thanks!!!
