Hello all,
I am trying to get a data set put together that will allow me to get an items categorical total based on the category it is in and the time frame selected. I would need to sum all of the sales contribution for the category based on time frame selected, then divide by each individual contribution to get its % of contribution, then sort by descending so I can apply a running total that will let me assign an ABC classification based on the sum of percentages.
Here is a sample set of data
Department | Category | Item | week | category sales contribution |
1 | A | Banana | 1 | 10 |
1 | A | apple | 1 | 20 |
1 | A | cherry | 1 | 15 |
1 | B | bread | 1 | 7 |
1 | B | tortilla | 1 | 8 |
1 | C | chocolate | 1 | 20 |
1 | C | candy | 1 | 12 |
1 | A | Banana | 2 | 19 |
1 | A | apple | 2 | 29 |
1 | A | cherry | 2 | 30 |
1 | B | bread | 2 | 13 |
1 | B | tortilla | 2 | 12 |
1 | C | chocolate | 2 | 18 |
1 | C | candy | 2 | 28 |

@Greg_Deckler if I have multiple categories of items, how do I make it account for that separately?
