@Anonymous see if this works:
Desired Value =
VAR varSelectedYear = SELECTEDVALUE('Date'[Year])
VAR varTotal =
IF(
varSelectedYear < YEAR(TODAY()),
CALCULATE(
SUM('Table'[Value]),
FILTER(
ALL('Date'),
'Date'[Year] = varSelectedYear
&& 'Date'[Month] = 12
)
),
CALCULATE(
SUM('Table'[Value]),
FILTER(
ALL('Date'),
'Date'[Year] = varSelectedYear
&& 'Date'[Month] = MONTH(TODAY())
)
)
)
VAR Result =
IF(
ISBLANK(varSelectedYear),
SUM('Table'[Value]),
varTotal
)
RETURN
Result
If no year is selected, it returns all results. If 2019 (last year, or any previous year) is selected, then it returns the amount for December of that year. If the current year is selected, it returns the current month's value. Note: this requires a date table, which is included in the PBIX file I've linked to.
My PBIX file is here.
If that is not what you need, please provide sample data and expected results more clearly. Thanks!
