Hi, I need som help with presumably some GeoJSON coding.
The goal is to locate an observation based on it's latitude and longitude coordinates.
The thought is to create a polygon map with "bins" so the location will be bucketed, based on it's lat and long.
The location is from ships and the polygon areas are thought to be major oceans.
To my knowledge, no current templates has been made on this.
Any recommendations on how to proceed?
Any help or other workarounds would be much appreciated.

Find a GEOJson polygon that serves your need (or create your own ), and then use MapShaper to convert it to the TopoJson format that the shape map expects. Make sure to include a unique identifier for each bucket so the shape map can then actually associate your data.
