Interact with parameters in a Report

I'm very new about Power BI and I have this question about how to interact with my query.

I explein you better.

first step: I imported my data from mySQL server (it works fine)
second step: I created two parameters to manage the date of my sql query (it works fine)
The question is: my database is very big and I can't import all it, so I'm wondering if is there a way to implement the parameters in the report and avoid to do data > transformation data > modify data?

Thank you in advance.

Best,

Define "very big".  Have you considered using incremental refresh?
