I have automatised excel tool for portfolio analysis. I have one excel file that has company database for general information such as Company ID, Buisness area, Headquarter, Business countries. Another excel sheets has comprehensive financial information from companies such as Company ID, Assets, Liability, Profit, Loss, Revenue, Sales etc. Any client can perform portfolio analysis from excel based tool where they can copy list of Company name and ID in thier portfolio and they get prerequired financial information and visualisation in excel (HQ, Business area, Revenue, Sales, Performance) for thier portfolio . Excel Tool columns are connected with database columns through v lookup so as soon as sombody copy list of identifiers company ID can get all prerequired information and visualisation based on excel. How can I make similar tool in Power BI where client just upload template file of thier portfolio and get visualisation chart?
Note that Power BI is a reporting tool, not a management tool. It has no memory and very limited data write back capabilities. Keep using Excel.
