Unable to share a report in Power BI Gallery

Hello everyone,

I would like to share a report in the Power BI Gallery that I recently created on COVID-19 data. Unfortunately, it looks like I am not able to create a new message. Please see below:

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thank you,

Nathalia

Thank you for your answer @JCM_iTalent  Unfortunately, when I try to submit the report I get the following error

When I test the same link on a browser it works. I also tried removing the last part of the link "%3D" but I had no luck. Do you know why this is happening?

Thank you,

Nathalia

@ngaray Could you please send me a PM with the URL that you are trying to post, so that I can try to replicate the issue?

@ngaray After unsuccessfuly trying to open the URL that you provided via PM and trying to upload a Data Story with the URL myself, I am wondering if you may not have used the "Publish to web" URL.

You can find information on "Publish to web" and creating an embed code here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-publish-to-web

You will need the URL that you can see in the screenshot for the "Link you can send in email" (found under step "6.").
Please let me know if using that URL resolved the issue.

Hi @JCM_iTalent ,

It looks like my admin hasn't enabled the "Publish to web (public)" option. I will find out if that is something that can be enabled in my organization. It looks like that was my problem.

Thank you for your assistance,

Nathalia

@ngaray Were you able to resolve the issue?

Hi @JCM_iTalent,

Unfortunately, my organization doesn't plan to enable the option to "publish to the web (public)". My understanding is that without this option I can't share my report in the report gallery.

Thank you for your assistance,

Nathalia
