Comment Spam Policy Update for Power BI Community Forums

Have you posted to the Power BI community recently and noticed some subtle changes? You may have published your post but been unable to find it on the site or you may have noticed that your post now appears under “My Unmoderated Items” in your profile. In either case, you do not need to resubmit your post; it is in the moderator queue waiting for approval before appearing on the live site. The changes you are seeing are part of an update to the Power BI Community.

Why was this necessary?

For all new posts, we have added a moderation step to handle spam in the community and prevent massive spam attacks. Our goal is to increase the usefulness of the community by improving the value of the content it contains. We want to lessen the disruption and board clutter that comment spam introduces into the community.

What is the new process?

It’s easy! Submit a post as you normally would. Your posts will show up in “My Unmoderated Items” under your profile until a moderator approves them. There may be a slight delay for posts to appear on the live site depending on how many posts are in the queue waiting for moderation. Once approved your post will be visible on the live site.

We value your input to the community and want to make sure that your posts are visible as quickly as possible. We also want to make sure we have a healthy community filled with idea generation and collaboration. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to reading even more of your comments in the Power BI community!
