Description: Chord diagram is supposed to show relationships between entities and also a share of total for each entity. Visualisation expects two attributes and value plus optional coloring value. Chord also allows for partial interactivity, by providing visual filtering for each group (opacity of all other groups is decreased).

This was my first JavaScript application, so I faced couple of obstacles that every beginner must solve, but I'm thrilled with how little is needed to deliver working piece of code. I'm curious if anyone finds this chord diagram interesting and useful for regular business analysis. Power BI rocks!

I love chord diagrams, there is no better way to show relationship trends, in my opinion :-)

Hi @RadimHampel,

I'm a newbie with PBI visuals and hope that you could help. I cloned the repository at https://github.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-visuals.git which doesn't include the Chord diagram. So I copied the BISmartChord.ts file along with its associate capabilities from your git repo.

Upon running again, I still cannot see the diagram. In short: what is the best way to run the Chord diagram on my local PC and later start making changes to it as per my needs?

Thank you!

Hi @syedaliammar, I know that they have taken my original code and did some adjustments before posting on visuals gallery. I'm not sure how many changes are there, I was not contacted by them.

The easiest way probably is to open dev console (power bi, dev tools menu). The I copied code from my repo, both main file and capabilities file. I combined them both together (in repos they are separated for better readability). Copy this text into your dev console and you should see the control working.

Hi Chord is very interresting powerbi visual.

My only problem is that I don't reconize lthe values shown within the labels.

They don't correpond with the expected values.
