Scheduled Refresh Plan for Power BI Server connected to Maria DB

Hi all,

we are working on a Report on Power BI Server connected to a MariaDB database through the ODBC Connector (as described on their website) as "Import" (not Direct Query).

We cannot setup the Scheduled Refresh Plan, it seems impossible to setup under these conditions. IT is shown the following error under the "Scheduling Update" tab it gives the following error: "Planned data update is not available for reports. The report does not contain defined external data connections or uses an unsupported data source"

Do anyone have a solution for this issue?
Many thanks,
A

Hi @asottocornola ,

You can try this step to examine issue:

  1. Verify ODBC Connection: Ensure that the ODBC connection to your MariaDB database is correctly configured and that the Power BI report server can access it. This includes verifying the DSN (Data Source Name) settings and ensuring that the necessary drivers are installed on the server hosting the Power BI Report Server.

  2. Check Data Source Support: While Power BI supports a wide range of data sources for scheduled refreshes, there are specific configurations, especially with ODBC connections, that may require additional steps. Review the documentation on Data refresh in Power BI Report Server to ensure your setup meets the necessary criteria for scheduled refreshes.
