I keep on seeing this
as a result, I can't create CG anymore.

I've found I see this same error when I connect to a model in Power BI Desktop that has never had a table loaded via Power Query, for example a model with calculated tables only.
If you load at least one table via Power Query, does the error go away? You should be able to delete the table after that.
I believe this updates the model from Compatibility 1550 / Version 3 to Compatibility 1550 / Version 5.
If that doesn't solve it then I'm not sure sorry.
