Hello,
when im trying to publish a public report i get errors for bad requeust. It seems like i cant use direct query as you get when you use a shared dataset. I start from a master-dataset and create reports based on it.
Is it possible to change that shared dataset like i use as a "root"dataset to change from directquery to import or something else. ? Or what should i do in this case? my reports have stopped working in the web for my customers atm.

Are you referring to changing the connection mode in the service.
As far as I know, it is not possible to change the connection mode of the semantic model on Power BI Service, you need to use Power BI Desktop to connect to the data source using Direct Query mode, convert the connection mode in Power BI Desktop, and overwrite the previous semantic model before publishing to Power BI Service.
Please note that Power BI Desktop supports specific connection mode conversions:
