How do you only pass across certain filters to another visual ?

Hi,

I have a report that contains 2 Visuals, a Bar and Line Chart

Visual (1)  contains 2 filters Site and Periods from Today -1.  So picks up the last reporting period.

Visual (2) is a line chart showing the past year to date in weeks , what I am looking to do is user clicks on the site in Visual 1 and this interacts with Visual 2 , but by still keeping the year to date.

At the moment on clicking the site on Visual (1) it also sends across the Periods from Today -1.

I dont really want to create a new slicer for the site if I can help it.

Cheers in anticipation.

Andy

Hi @Spudduk

you can restrict the filtration for a specific visual. Select the visual and go to the Format tab. try it with the Edit Interactions.

Hi @Spudduk

Thanks to @Musadev for the prompt reply. I have another idea for this question. With the Edit Interactions feature, we can enable/disable the interaction behavior between two visuals, but we cannot select to keep the filter on one column and remove the filter on the other column during the interaction.

To accomplish the goal, we may need to adjust the formula for the measure used in visual 2. Assume that a YTD measure is used in Visual 2 to calculate the result, we can try adding REMOVEFILTERS('Table'[Period]) in the measure to remove the filter on Period column. Hope this would be helpful.

Best Regards,
Jing
