Using url to filter reports is duplicating filters in the filter pane.

I tried to use the url parameters to filter a report, and it worked!

but I used a filter which was already in the filter pane, and I notice that url filter creates another filter in the report filter pane, instead of using the filter which was already in the pane. Any idea how to fix this?

Hi @mahimabedi,

Currently, when we filter a report using query string parameters in the URL, it will create new report level filters for them on the report, instead of changing the original ones if exists, and I don't think there is a way to change this behavior. We may need to manually remove the original filters from the filter pane to make it work correctly.

So I would suggest you add it as an idea on Power BI Ideas to improve Power BI on this feature. Smiley Happy

Hi @mahimabedi

Would it be possible to remove the filter from the filters pane? So that you were only applying the filter in one area or location?
