Two Data Sources - On Premise and Azure?

Hi All

We have an on-premise gateway and it works very well for all of our service reports but I now need to add Azure Database data to some of these reports.

Is there any option in the service to have two gateways or do i need to bring the Azure data into our local data warehouse and then use the on-premise gateway?

Any advice would be awesome, thank you 🙂

Mattie

Hi @MattieG72MP,

I tested it successfully with import mode to local SQL DB and Azure SQL DB. Please try it out.

I dont understand the resolution on this. Im having the same requirement. I have an on premise gateway that Im merging data from a local SQL db and an Azure DB. My current gateway refreshes every day but I dont see an option to add the Azure DB to the gateway. Do you have to dump the Azure DB to local tables then use that table in the gateway? If so how is that done.

Hi @MattieG72MP,

You can use the Azure database directly. Is it a Azure SQL Server Database? You can try it out and post the issues you have.

Hi All

Basically what I am trying to achive in the service is having a report that pulls data from the on-premise gateway and also from Azure but as far as i can see there is no way of setting up the

dataset subscription to come from an on-premise gateway and a direct connection to Azure?

Thanks

Mattie
