I have problems with the personal gateway. Here's the scenario:
-Report is succesfully published to the service.
-The report uses two sources:
-one is a local file present in the machine where the gateway is installed.
-the other one is a SQL server accessible from Corpnet (FMT / BMX data).
-The gateway is reported as up and working.
If l run the report in the machine with the desktop designed, it refreshes data just fine. Both local and SQL source. However, from the expand I have problems with the personal gateway. Here's the scenario:

A similar situation happened to me. I had updated the PowerBI desktop but failed to update my Gateway at the same time. I contacted support and was told to update my Gateway EVERY TIME I update the desktop. My credentials worked as they should and I have not had any further issues. I would recommend doing a quick update of both and trying to refresh again.
Remember, what worked for me may not work for you but it is worth a shot.

The latest version of the personal gateway solved the issue for me. I believe it was linked to the timeout settings. It was resolved anyway.

@jordimr: did you try updating your credentials in the dataset settings? In the dataset on the schedule refresh settings page, if you click on "edit credentials" under the sql server datasource, you can update the credentials. Did you give this a shot? Does refresh still fail?
