Hello,
I am currently testing some feasibility of Power BI at the aspect of security,
I already have these ready:
1. Power BI accounts including an PBI Admin
2. An office 365 admin account
Still working but here is my question,
In order to search audit logs in O365 S&C center,
What is the minumum requirement of user account?
Do I need to subscribe any licenses on O365 other than Power BI Pro?
(I did notice an Exchange Online is needed but not 100% about this.)
Thank you for any info or documentation about this point!
Hi @chienim,
Firstly, to use auditing feature in Power BI, your account needs to be marked as a Global Admin, within Office 365 or Azure Active Directory, to get access to the Power BI admin portal. And to enable auditing for Power BI in your tenant, you need at least one exchange mailbox license in your tenant.
Secondly, except Power BI pro license, to provide non-administrator accounts with access to the audit log, you will need to assign permissions within the Exchange Online Admin Center. For more information, please review Permissions in Exchange Online.

Hi, @v-yuezhe-msft
Can I ask only one question here?
To use Power BI Audit log , we need just "1 account" to grant authority, which has license to use Exchange Online, is this right?
Or every user who uses PBI Audit log needs to have own license of Online Exchange?
We would like to use PBI Audit log, and the Global Admin granted me PBI admin.
But we noticed that we need Exchange Online lisence that we don't have.
Thank you very much ,
Kida
