Home and away teams but need the date done for team in total

Not sure if this is posted in the correct location but here is my issue.  I have data that is done by game so teams are listed as the home or away team.  I have been able to get the data that shows for example how many penalties a team takes when home and away but how do I see this data for the team in general.  Our data set has each penalty entered in as its own item so if a game has 5 penalties then there are 5 entries for that game listing the home and away teams.  This lets me see the penalties that are taken by type per team but split between home and away when I would need to see it total.
