Hi,
I am new to PowerBI and We have developed some reports using the Import option and it looks upto the views created. I understand that we can schedule as many as eight times in a day adding as many intervals in the Import - Schedule Refresh option in the PowerBI service.
Problem Statement:
Since sometimes the ETL runs a bit overtime , the import may not fetch the actual new data, but just the old data and this will look the Import succeded but we will not know if the data is OLD.
Hence if the import refresh is based on an event - like the Import Refresh will start only after the Data Load is complete, it would be more precise and helpful.
So the question is, is there an option to do event based Import Refresg triggering option available in PowerBI?
Please Help.
Hi @Anonymous,
There is no such feature in Power BI service. As we can set 8 refresh times per day, You can set minimum start refresh time and maximum start refresh time to include the ETL complete time to make sure after the ETL is completed, there is also one or more refresh time can get updated data.

Thanks so much for your response. Is it not possible even in PowerBI premium?
Hi @Anonymous,
It's not available in Power BI premium as well. The refresh starts based on schedule time, it will access data source and retrieve data when hitting schedule time. You can adjust ETL and schedule refresh time properly to ensure each refresh time getting new data.
