If I copy a report from a shared content pack then once the data is refreshed from the content pack will that also refresh the copied version? Thanks.

You make a copy of the report after you import the content pack, right? If so, once the data is refreshed from the content pack, the data in original content pack you imported will be refreshed, but the data in copied report will not refreshed. You would get a notification that “A new version of the content pack is available” in your copied report.

That is how it should work yes.
What I can suggest is to update your source data with something that you know is new.
Then to see if that flows through to your copied content pack?
