Hello,
I have my dataset refresh set for every 15 mins. But the refresh history shows that it is refreshing roughly every 90-120 mins. If the dataset is set for every 15 mins, why is it refreshing every 2 hours or so?

Hi @byarian,
Which type of datasource your used? Some of them only support refresh hourly even if you set the refresh frequency to 15 minutes.
For detail information you can take a look at following link:
In addition, you can also take a look at below article about "Data refresh by subscription type".
Before we go any further, it’s important to know how data refresh works depending on your Power BI subscription type. There are two different types of user subscriptions, Power BI (free) and Power BI Pro. Power BI Pro provides additional refresh frequency and capacity.
Data Refresh | Power BI (free) | Power BI Pro |
Datasets scheduled to refresh | Daily | Hourly* |
Streaming data in your dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI REST API or Microsoft Stream Analytics. | 10k rows/hour | 1M rows/hour |
Live/DirectQuery on-premises data sources with full interactivity via the On-premises Data Gateway
Live cloud data sources with full interactivity (Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Spark on HDInsight)
On-premises data sources requiring a Power BI Gateway - Personal and/or the On-premises Data Gateway. |
* Up to eight times (hours) per day.
BTW, after setting the refresh frequency, I can refresh per 15 minutes.

Xiaoxin Sheng
