Change PowerBI datasource for Excel Pivot Table

Dear All,

I have created a Pivot Table in Excel (not Power Pivot) using PowerBI Service as a Datasource. I have created this link using the PowerBI Plugin for Excel.

Now I have changed the name of the Report and Datasource in Power BI Online and the link from Excel to PowerBI is not working anymore (logically I assume).

How can I select a new datasource / change the datasource to the correct PowerBI Datasource for my Pivot Tables, not having to rebuilt all my Pivot Table reports again?

Is this possible? Hope this is an easy question, and I can get some help soon. I have been trying for days, but Excel keeps crashing when I try to edit the connection.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Kind regards,

Jochem

Found the solution myself.

1. Create a new link with the PowerBI Plugin "Connect Data" within the "PowerBI"-Menu.

2. Go to the Pivot Table with the old/wrong Datasource connected.

3. Select "Change Datasource" in the "Pivot Table"-Menu.

4. Choose the correct connection that was just generated.

Works fine!
