Hi- I am not able to get my report to filter when I scan a barcode. Can someone please send me an example of how my data needs to be formatted to get the barcode scanning feature to work? Currently I am selecting my UPC column (EAN/UPC field) and choosing barcode - data category under the modeling tab.

However, from what I see online, I believe I need to manipulate this value into some kind of barcode in excel before uploading to Power BI? I have CODE128 barcode font installed on my desktop.

Thanks for the Support!

Hi

Thanks for your report

This scenario should be supported.

Please go over the KB below:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/mobile-apps-scan-barcode-iphone

If you still have issue, please contact us on mpbisup@microsoft.com with more details like: Screenshot, barcode, etc

Thanks

Yariv

I was able to confirm that now this is working again. There must have been a bug earlier in the iPhone software release. I was able to build a report with a barcode as a dataset column within the report. Then using the most recent IOS app I’m able to scan the barcode, the report opens up and filters to the desired item.

This seems to be fixed now, thanks for the update...

I see new issues reported in this blog in Mobile App for iPhone.

I also have this issue. I use one report, one barcode field. Report opens but no filtering.

Tried different barcode formats (EAN128, EAN13) but nothing works.

Also filtering within a report does not work.

Scanner does not recognize the barcode whereas the scanner from the main menu scans correctly.

Any suggestions?

Reaching out to @v-qiuyu-msft is there any chatter on this issue around Barcodes not filtering on the Iphone IOS Power BI App?

I am using an IPhone X with the most uptodate software.

Mobile App for Power BI on iPhone SE does scan the barcode, then the report is opened but no filtering.

I have only one report, barcode enabled.

I see new issues coming in on this subject recently.

What is the issue?

any update?  Will they fix this?

Are you experiencing the same issue?

I am finding the same behavior with my application.  However, I am using a 1-D barcode which I thought would work based on this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/mobile-apps-scan-barcode-iphone

My Barcode that I generate allows me to open the report but the report is not filtering down to the Barcode Item in my report.  Is there a specific 1-D barcode type I should be using in order for the Iphone App to recognize the barcode?

@v-qiuyu-msftThanks! and that is a Datamatrix code.  It does work from the main App navigation! so i was hoping they support Datamarix in the report as well.  Is there any plans to support the QR/Datamatrix inside the report?  I added this to the Ideas forum!
