Hi after updating the Power BI Desktop for the last version, the option to show the forecast values with the option "show as a table" has disappeared. The screenshot is attached: i would like to request your urgent attention to this issue. Thank you, Rita

When I download a pbix file from a workspace in a pipeline, upon opening the downloaded file, there is an alert that changes need to be applied. If I go to transform data before applying changes, it renders 0 queries. If I apply changes, all of the queries disappear and the report visuals break. If I discard changes, the report works as it should and all data queries are still there and relationships are still active. This is only happening if I downloaded the file from the Test or Prod workspaces of the pipeline. Files downloaded from Dev work as expected without this happening. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent this?

Hi there, today I stumbled upon something interesting that cannot be a desired behaviour. If the application language of Power BI Desktop is English, then the default name for the first query in the new DAX Query View is 'Query 1'. So far so good. But in my case - I am working with the German version of PBI Desktop. In this case the default name of the initial query view is 'Abfrage "1"'. Note the quotation marks. This is actually quite some problem, because it leads to the unexpected behaviour that I am unable to save the entire pbix file the moment I start to use the new DAX Query View and execute a query with this default name. First I was confused, why I could not save my file anymore. Every time I tried to save it, I got an error thrown which states ""C:\...\..." ist kein gültiger Dateipfad." which means the target path is not a valid file path. So I looked up the error details and found the topmost entry of the stack trace, which was the following: "bei Microsoft.PowerBI.Client.Windows.Services.PowerBIFileSerializer.ValidateDaxQueryFileName(String fileName)" The corresponding stack trace message was: "The file name 'Abfrage "1".dax' contains invalid characters." It appears that the default query name - which is not user generated but comes from the product itself - is an invalid query name. The quotation marks are crucial. I removed those in my Query view and suddenly I was able to save my file again. I hope you guys get rid of those quotation marks as soon as possible, because this is a serious issue. The user suddenly becomes unable of saving the entire pbix file just by using the new DAX Query View. And the critical part is, that at first sight you have no clue what is causing this problem. Only after a deep dive in the error logs advanced users may identify the problem. Maybe there are even more languages affected, I have not tested it for others than English and German. Field parameters - Default sorting order resets When there is a drill down provided in the Visual (BUG). "When incorporating a visual with applied field parameters and enabling drill-down functionality, an issue arises when attempting to sort a measure in ascending or descending order. It seems that each time parameters are modified, the sorting preference is reset. Is there a viable solution to address this issue?" The sort does work proper if there is no drill down. But when applying drill down functionality and switching the field parameters, the sort is not working as required. Addressing to this issue will be appreciated. @Remo_ @Vedaprakash

With the new feature for version control, opening .pbir files on Desktop throws an error for the measures that have a trailing (extra character at the end) space in their names. Had to remove the trailing space to get rid of the error.

Currently the line chart "step" line type will change values half way between each data point which tricks the eye into thinking a value changed at a specific point in time, when it didn't. A "step after" interpolation mode should be implemented so that the value of the first data point is held until the value of the second data point. Linear interpolation between points might be helpful in some use cases but comparing between interpolated values is often useless when your data is relatively sparse and especially when your data points are not aligned in time (so you end up comparing a real data point to an interpolated data point). Most other BI / visualisation tools have a "step after" interpolation mode where the value of a point is held until the next data point. Work arounds include things like creating date spines (causes issues with knowing which points are reall data points), using line charts (and making the comparisons inacrruate), or using bar charts (making comaprisons between points in time difficult).

The row-level security improvements released last month are no longer available in the service. When I test as a role and click the drop-down to change reports, none of the connected reports are listed. It only lists the main report for the dataset. This was working consistently since it was released until this month.

Hi! Today we discovered a very annoying bug: when exporting with the current layout, Power BI is not picking really the "current", but the first level available in the hierarchy. In the below example, you see my matrix is showing the attributed "GBF" which is the third in the hierarchy. However, when I export with current layout, Excel shows the Region, which is the first item in the hierarchy. The workaround for now is to delete the first two attributes so it works, but this is new! It was not happening before. Would appreciate a lot your support, as our +700 users are impacted. Thank you!

In the line and clustered column chart and line and stacked column chart visuals, there is the option to use two measures, and view them displayed on either one or two y axis. On basic, single-measure visuals where small multiples are used, the y axis can synchronise across the differnt small measures using the 'shared y axis' option in the visual options. The issue is that when the two-measure visuals try to use small multiples, the y axis do not work properly. The secondary measure will not be taken into account when the axis range is designed. I'm guessing that this is the result of the small multiples feature for these charts not having the axis designed to use the highest of all values. The range of the shared y-axis is determined entirely by the primary measure used, and not by the full range of both of the primary and secondary. I have prepared an example pbix and visuals (fake data). As you can see, the y axis cuts out at the 800 mark, when it should go up to above 2000. The problem occurs regardless of whether the small multiple panes are vertically or horizontally aligned. Compare this to how the data looks if it was shown on two seperate visuals The Target value for Man-USA is very high, but in the first picture (blue columns) , the number is displayed correctly on the tooltip but the marker is too low.

Please fix this: "." to "," . Region settings are right because everything else shown the comma.

Since October 24th 2022 the Microsoft version of the IBM DB2 connector returns an error on both Import and DirectQuery when working with JDEdwards on an IBM DB2 database (I haven't tried with other databases and tables). "HISMPCB0002 In BasePrimitiveConverter the SetCodePage method has been called with a invalid codepage: 937" This goes for the Power BI Desktop October 2022 version as well as the Power BI Service. When I roll back to the PBI Desktop September version I have no errors with my report. But when I publish the report to the service, the error reappears. Unfortunately this prevents us from doing any reports on the database. When a dimension field parameter is used in a matrix visual that has more than one expanadable rows, the visual is collapsed to the level of the field parameter whenever I make a selection from the field parameter slicer. Consider the following matrix, where COST_PERIOD is the dynamic field and TEST PARAMETER is the slicer that controls that field: As you can see, the table is expanded to tge level of Vendor Name. Now, when I make another selection fron the TEST PARAMETER slicer, the table is automatically collapsed to the level of the COST_PERIOD field and I have to expand everything all over again:

When adding an image to a series in the new card visual it says that the SVG format is supported, and it will allow you to select an SVG, but the SVG will not display. Note, I am not referring to the 'background image' in the card fill settings though, the SVG does display and work fine there.

As of 2/20, the Power BI Release Plan report has failed to refresh. This is occuring across multiple users. When total labels are turned on, the labels do not show when data is sliced to an option that has only one legend category. See here, the data is sliced and there are multiple legend values. The total labels work. Here in the same chart, the data is sliced and there is only one legend value. The total labels disappear. We don't want to enable regular data labels, only the total. Is this intended functionality? Or is this a bug? Seems like if I choose total labels on they should always work by default.

On nearly every report I have in Power BI Desktop, I refresh the data and get this error message on random tables/queries in my dataset. To 'fix' it, I have to open the Power Query Editor, refresh all previews in there, then close the editor and refresh the data in the report view again - and everything refreshes no problem. So, it's not actually an issue with my queries at all - it just seems to be a bug in PBI Desktop.

Hi! With fabric launch the way how you connect to Power BI dataset has changed. Previously, when you was connecting to already developed dataset for all report no new datasets were added. Now all reports connected to dataset have their own separate dataset. Because of that when we are publishing Power BI App with those reports connected to separate datasets access provided only to directly connected to this reports datasets, but not original. And this causes "Couldn't retrieve the data for this visual. Please try again later" because it still requires users to have access permission to the original dataset. For now we have manually added rights to origin dataset, but this doesn't sound as working properly, or we are doing something wrong? Many thanks in advance!

My first page has a lot of visuals and the user should scroll down to see them. When the user clicks a visual and goes to another page scroll position is the same not at the top of the page. My pages are in actual size with scroll. It is a very basic thing but I couldn't solve it. Thank you very much for your help in advance.
