Error: Tooltip Slicers Not Updating in Publish Report

I have an error where when I change the slicer values on the main page, the tooltips is still retaining the values from the previous slicer choices selected. I am not having this issue on the desktop version. So the slicers are all defintely syced, but the tooltips are not refreshed with the new selections until a different option is selected.  ... Datasets are taking forever and erroring out this week.

My datasets usually take about 45mins to sync with the Dataflow, but this week some of them take more than 2hrs and eventually fail or succeed. The data is only pulled from the Dataflow which is in the clould and so are my datasets? Anything happening at Microsoft? One day it takes 45mins, another day 2hrs+ and the third day 60mins. ??? ... May I know whether you got any error message in your dataset refresh history? Has the amount of data in your dataflow increased compared to before?

If you refresh your dataset by on-demand refresh, will it refresh within 60 minutes? Is your issue happening on a relatively fixed time?

BUG: Table visual showing vertical grids when published. Disabled in PBI Desktop.

Posted in forum, but seeing if this is a bug that can be addressed:   Having issues with tables where even though vertical grid lines are disabled and do not show on PBI desktop (version 2.82.5858.1161 64-bit (June, 2020) ), when published and using embedded service, vertical lines show on the visual.  Chrome and Edge (Chromium) results are visually the same and example below.  Firefox shows lines as well but in black (not shown).   PBI Desktop showing vertical grids disabled. (Even have them set to white prior to disabling.)   When published using embedded, table visuals show vertical grid lines (Screenshot from Edge (chromium)   This just doesn't look good and wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issues... ... Fields pane does not expand in service when dragged

When trying to create a report in the Power BI Service, the Fields pane does not seem to be expanding correctly. As a result it is not possible to see the full name of a measure. It is possible to hover over the measure to see a tooltip of the name, though this is not efficient.   The screenshot provided shows what happens when the fields pane is expanded. Personal bookmarks overwrites hidden filters

Case scenario: You create a report based on data              . You publish it to Service. [Field1] is set as a filter that end user can interact with Report is online and user creates Personal Bookmark to see only X value of [Field1] After time you change report in the Desktop to show only Z value of [Field2]. You put restriction into report level filter and hide it as you don’t want your users to interact with it. You publish report to the Service. Then your end user opens report in service At the beginning (default view) the proper view is displayed (Z value of [Field2]). But when user uses his personal bookmark, he can overwrite hidden filters and he will be able to see all the values for [Field2]. This behavior makes usage of personal bookmarks risky/inconvenient.  Imagine you have a report that about Productivity. Up to now, you have been reporting all the data, but one day Headquartes decides that they do not want to see data for new production lines in the oficial report. The easiest way to do that is to filter out new production lines. You are doing that but you cannot be sure that of all your report viewers see the official data right now. You need to ask them to delete old bookmarks, reset report to default and create new bookmarks.      ... View more

PowerBI view shifted in Remote Desktop

Connected via Remote Desktop, opened a PowerBI file and the report's frame/image is cut off and shifted to the left/top, with empty sections at the side. Mouse clicks on the empty/right side causes actions on the report. For example, clicking at the right edge brings up the right-most pane with the tables. In case it matters, desktop is a multi-monitor setup but user is connected via Remote Desktop from a laptop.  This used to work some months ago (sorry, don't know the versions). Unable to load the deployment pipeline page for any pipelines

Firstly, please make sure you have met the requirements of deploying pipelines.

1 You're pro user and your workspace resided in a Premium capacity or you are using Premium Per User license. If you have met these requirements, but you still get this issue. Please try these steps.

  • If you deploy with a new workspace, will you get this issue?
  • If you create a new pipeline, will you get same issue?

Hide/Unhide Columns issue: PBI Unhides hidden columns after pbix refresh

Hi, In my pbix I hid all the columns and measures that are not neccessary for the users who may work with the excel analyzer or could connect to the dataset. The pbix was linked to our Dev database. When I switched the Parameter so that the pbix gets data from the Production database, the pbix got refreshed and the hidden columns got visible. Interestingly enough, Measures and Calculated columns stayed hidden. Other (raw) columns got unhidden. Also, if a whole Table was hidden, it stayed hidden. Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce the same issue as yours.

I suggest you to update to the latest version of the Power BI desktop and check if this problem can disappear.

Service Refresh Problems

Having an issue where a published report does not match the same report in Desktop.  We can duplicate the issue by doing the following: 1) Start with a validated report in Power BI Desktop (Nov 2021) 2) Publish report to the online service - the published report appears identical to the desktop version 3) Within the online service, refresh the report - once finished, the report no longer matches the desktop version   Is anyone else having a similar issue?  A gateway is in use, running the latest Nov update.  Data sources are not changing during the above 3 steps.   ... Could not reproduce it in my side as far as my test. Wants to collect more information about this issue.

  1. Did this issue happen on this specific report, data source and workspace? or all of them have the same issue?
  2. Since need to use Power BI gateway, did this report use Direct Query mode or Live Connection mode?
  3. Have this issue happened temporarily or all the time?
  4. When refreshing the report, did it happen under manual refresh or schedule refresh or both of them?

Can't open reports in Power BI

Hello,   I used to be able to create, save and re-open Power BI files on the desktop app without any issues. Today, I attempted to open some old reports and I got a prompt saying:   'Something went wrong Execute Xmla failed with result'   I opened up a new Power BI report, saved it as test.pbix, closed it and attempted to re-open it, and got the same issue. Tooltip on Slicer visual not working in Power BI Service for past week

A tooltip is not displaying in the Power BI Service, behavior occurring only in the past week.  The tooltip that I expect to see is when you hover over an entry in a slicer visual and when the name gets truncated with a "..." suffix due to visual size being shoter than the actual text value.  The tooltip is displaying in Power BI Desktop.  Tooltips are displaying in other visuals.   Same issue when using Firefox or Edge browser.     ... Embedded Report IFrame randomly not fully rendering

Some of our clients are having an issue with their reports not fully rendering (the filter panel shows up but the entire report area is blank). When right clicking over the iframe and clicking "Reload frame", it then fully renders.   We are using powerbi-client-2.18.6 in an angular application. It's happening in Chrome 95-96   I have not been able to reproduce this issue. Does anyone have any familiarity with such a scenario?         ... View more

Google Big Query - Exceeded Rate Limits (When I Really Didn't)

I am using the "Google BigQuery (Beta)" connector to pull data from two of my company's Big Query datasets.   When I try to refresh the report, I get this error message:   ERROR [HY000] [Microsoft][BigQuery] (100) Error interacting with REST API: Exceeded rate limits: Your user_method exceeded quota for api requests per user method. For more information, see https://cloud.google.com/bigquery/troubleshooting-errors   When I go look at Google's documentation about API request limits, I find two limits: API requests per second, per user — 100 Concurrent API requests, per user: 300 I am not exceeding any of these limits. I am only pulling from two Big Query datasets, so am using two concurrent queries. As far as I understand, I am not coming anywhere near Google's API limits.   This error stops my report from refreshing and so I am stuck with data that is not up-to-date. I have been able to refresh this report in the past, but now this error is stopping me.   If this is a bug, can it please be fixed? Built in visual - Slicer enable search from the visual menu in canvas to get search tech field create bookmark to default state when no text has been entered / values selected save bookmark with data, display, current page and all visuals ticked create a button with bookmark action search for a term, hit enter, check the value to filter on ctrl+click button to activate bookmark created in previous step filter is cleared from page text stays in search field and slicer stays filtered    Text Filter visual from appsource clears the text as well, If I am not missing something that would replicate desired behaviour, can you look into changing this? ... Email Subscriptions are Blank

I have several reports that send email subscriptions to our end users each morning after the data refreshes. The past few days, peridically the email will be blank. The logos and shapes on the report still show but all of the data and visualizations are blank. When I go into the full report, everything looks fine and if I manually run the subscription, it looks correct. I'm not sure what is causing the error? ... View more

Export Data to Excel Columns Rearranging

I'm having an issue where my report has two tabs with identical tables but querying different datasets.  When I export the first table to excel, the columns and data stay in the current layout, but when I export the second tab's table, the columns are rearranged in the exported file.  Is there something I can do to fix this? Still could not reproduce it in my side when I use both SQL source to test it, both of import mode and direct query mode work fine.

 

Have you used import mode or direct query mode when this issue happened? Could it be related to much rows so that if you can try to test few rows with the same columns to check it again.

Perhaps you can check your data source to find this field whether it should return a value as varible, be a vaild table or a function as the error message mentioned.
