This doesn't seem to be a brand new issue, with similar results over a year old, but why do Hidden Pages become visible again after exporting from the Power BI service? That seems to defeat the purpose of hiding them in the first place, the cleanliness of exporting specific slides and would cause multiple versions of the same data to be uploaded to ensure only necessary content is visible to the end user. Can there be a fix made for this? Thanks, Ryan

Hi, I have a graph that looks fine in the Power BI Desktop app, but when published to the Power BI service becomes blank. I have attempted to clear my cache on my browser, switch off all filters on the graph, and check by turning the graph into a table to see if there is any data behind it on the service. I am using a number of visuals which have this error, including a line graph and clustered bar charts. I am using a sharepoint to access data. I believe this is a bug with the Power BI Service.

Model works and refreshes in July release. Tried in August release on two machines and refresh never completes. Model contains links to Sharepoint online and SFDC. Sharepoint data loads slowly and SFDC never completes. Model includes custom functions. How can we debug the difference between August vs July of the exact same model?

I am building a Scatter Chart, with value ($) as the bubble size variable. This functionality is fundamentally broken, as there is no way to adjust the minimum/maximum bubble size. For example, as a test dataset, I plotted the following values as sizes $1 $5,000,000 $100,000,000 with these bubble sizes, there is sufficient difference between the bubble size of the larger two values, BUT the $1 and $5M values have virtually the same bubble size. This is therefore a misrepresentation of what is actually going on. I consider this an issue and not a new functionality, as I think this makes the existing functionality (size) unusable as it is.

I'm writing with a formatting issue with the bookmark navigator. I have pages and each page has a subpage (the pages are controlled with bookmarks). In the screenshot below the pages are on the left and the subpages at the top right. The green underline is the fill and indicates a user selection. In this example, if a user navigates to the "Overall Growth" page then selects the 2nd subpage ("Contract Count"), the green fill remains on the 2nd subpage even if they navigate to another main page and return to the "Overall Growth" main page. When they return to the "Overall Growth" main page the intended behavior is to see all the visuals for the first subpage ("Net Investment") and the green fill should be on the 1st subpage in the bookmark navigator to indicate that the user is viewing the set of visuals in the first subpage. However, even though all the visuals are displayed for the correct subpage, the fill remains on the 2nd page because that was the last one selected by the user (shown in the screenshot below). The intended behavior is for the fill to match the user selection, and this does not happen even when the bookmark navigator is bookmarked with the correct selection.

Have the same problem that was posted awhile back ( see link below ). Dashboard tiles are not refreshing on schedule, only manually refreshing the dataset pushes updated data to the Dashboard. I have been working with support and tried a number of different things with no change, so they asked me to post here. Hey there, When I go to add any new visual from AppSource, I get the good ol' loading circle. Doesn't matter if I quit, restart, etc. I've tried this on different networks. No luck. I can quit out of this with Alt+F4, but it's still stuck. Anyone else? Any ideas? Step One: I can get to the visuals page. After clicking one:

We don't receive mails from some of the "send mail" features of the Power BI cloud service. We know that there is no problem on our side with receiving mails, because, in general, we DO get mails, e.g. when: being added to a group when a dashboard is shared with me But we don't get mails at least on these occasions: data alerts report subscription There are several posts on that issue and none of them has a found a solution so far: http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Not-receiving-email-on-Alert/m-p/120178#M18664 http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Not-receiving-email-via-subscription/m-p/118963/highlight/true#M18566 http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Unable-to-receive-automated-mail-alerts-from-Power-BI-service/m-p/116622#M18352 I wonder if the problem only occurs if you are in an enterprise context and your UPN is not the same as your email address. In my case, if the system sends mails to my UPN, i will never receive them. Here is some more of what I found out: Using a "Alternate E-Mail-Address": In an enterprise context, I'm not able to set and use an alternate email-address as suggested here. That's because I'm not allowed to change my information settings due to organizational reasons. But IF i could, there's another problem: According to our AD guys, the "Alternate email" information is stored in an AD-field named "othermails", which can only be set in the Admin-UI if the user got a special role assigned to. But that does not apply, if the user is a simple PBI-User (and no PBI-Admin for example). So putting email addresses into the "alternate email" will fix it only for special users. Additionally, the "othermails" field doesn't seem to get synced from AD to the AAD. That means that putting email-adresses into that On-Prem-AD-Field wouldn't change a thing for the cloud service. If the Power BI-function that sends alerting notification uses either the UPN or the "othermails" field, emails get lost. There's a AD field called "mail", which could be used, but perhaps it isn't, at least in some cases. Sorry if some of the information above is perhaps specific to our case. (after all I'm a BI guy, no AD expert) If I simply missed something - any help will be appreciated!

I have been trying to roll out Power BI to my organisation (it is a rather large organisation with many users all over the country) whilst our Central IT department is working through upgrading us to Power BI Premium and I have discovered a bug that the Microsoft Customer Service person who is helping me claims is by design. Bug that was discovered: When I share a report via a dashboard to a new Power BI user (doesn't already have a Pro Licenses) and the user signs up for a Pro Trial to see my report, I need to cancel the invite and resend it. Steps to reproduce: Create a report and publish it to a group Create a dashboard for the report and share it with a user who is not a Pro user yet Have your user sign up for the Power BI Pro Trial User will get "Sorry, we couldn't find that report" error The workaround: After your user signs up for a Power BI Pro Trial (step 3 in the above), go to your dashboard and click "Cancel Invite" Resend the invite to your user This works, however, it is a bug and it is creating a lot of extra work for the people who are producing / sharing reports as well as frustrations from our end users. If you could fix this or assure that this will be fixed when we move to Premium, that would be really helpful in getting our users to adapt to Power BI as their new reporting tool. When personalizing a visual, if you remove a column/s and then export to ppt, it retains the personalized view. However, if you add a column/s and then export to ppt, it reverts to the default view.

I seem to have found a bug in PowerBI online. I am abe to bypass MFA for the service account, by logging in with my own account. Steps I follow: 1.Go to www.powerbi.com in Google Chrome The I choose the second account, which acts as a service-account and in the next screen I fill out the password Then I get this screen: Clicking on Volgende (Next) give me this: But I cannot create this code because it's not in my authenticator app. So I click on Annuleren (Cancel). this brings me back to the screen where I can choose an account to log in: Now I choose my own account and enter my password in the next screen. Then I get the MFA screen for logging in with my own account I use my phone for the authentication and I get this screen: after clicking on Gered (OK) I get on the powerbi site, but logged in with the service account. It looks like everybody with a PowerBI account on our tenant can log in with the service account when they get hold of the password. Seems to me that is not how it should be

Before last week hyperlinks (whether in Desktop, or Web Service) would open to a new tab in whichever browser was being used (chrome, edge, IE all tested). Now, when a hyperlink is selected in desktop the link will pop open in a new window (does not appear to be associated with any browser, but with Power BI). No Ribbons, or menu bars are present. Is this a bug? Example of windows below (first image how desktop handles a link in pop up window, second how web service handles link by opening new chrome tab). Prior to last week both would open a new chrome tab. Can this issue be fixed/rolled back?

Hi, Please could you fix the PowerBI Cloud website so that it's possible to open links in new tabs - for example in the left navigation bar, I'd like to open a new tab with my apps in it. However, as currently designed, it's not possible to right-click/middle click to open the link in a new tab while leaving my current tab open: Generally, throughout the PowerBI website this isn't possible - making navigation a real chore. Hi, Would like to ask is it possible to reset the slicer selection based on drill-through? Or is there any trick to make it happen? 1. The sample case is, I have two pages (Pivot & Mark, they are connected by ID). 2. From "Pivot", I'll select a row and drill through to page "Mark". It works well until here. However, on page "Mark", there is a slicer. 3. If I select a value in that slicer, and then back to page Pivot to select another data & drilling through, the previous selection on that slicer on page "Mark" is kept. My expectation is when I go back to "Pivot" page and drill through, the selection on page "Mark" is reset. Is there any way to achieve that? Please advise.

In Power BI Desktop I have made changes in Power Query by Replacing Values in a column. Those changes correctly flow into the spreadsheet view, but when I go to edit the grouping of the column, the Replace Value changes do not show in the Edit Groups interface. See image. Any idea why the Ungrouped Values data is not reflecting the refreshed data values?

Scenario: I have a report with a single-select drop-down slicer that filters what device information will be displayed. This report is already published and has been working as intended for several months now. However, somehow on the web version this silcer will revert back to a multi-select format. when i open up the desktop file, the slicer still remains as single-select. I'll save and republish it to try and fix the web version and even though the web version will show that it has been updated, the slicer still remains as a mutli-select. I've tried editing the web version and changing this slicer back to a single-select in the edit mode; and although the slicer will show that it has changed back to single-select, when I save and close out/re-open the slicer will again show as a multi-select in the report. I've tried clearing my cache and then republishing or editing in the web mode but neither seems to fix the issue. The only fix that I've found online that works is to completely delete the slicer in the desktop version and then re-create it, save, and republish. However, since this is the second time that I've had to do this to fix the issue (in the last several months), I fear that this is not a permanent solution to the problem. I simple want to make Microsoft aware of this possible bug/issue.

The current user experience for external users consuming reports shared with them via Azure B2b is very limited. The user can only access the report / dashboard via the link they receive in the invite, and cannot see the report when they log into PowerBI.com service. It would really unlock Azure B2B external sharing of reports if the user was able to view the App / Report / Workspace within the full PowerBI.com experience and also the mobile app, and that the user could easily switch between tenants that they have been provided access without having to log in / out.

Thank you for adding the decomposition tree, it's truly a great widget. However, from what I can tell, it is not possible to change the labels in the tree. For example when I would use a 'distinct count' in the 'Analyze' field, the label will say "Count of -------". In other widget I can change this by renaming the value in the field. Is there a way to change this? Thanks in advance.
