Slicer with slider appears as check box in Power BI service

Hi,

I am using a slicer with slider in a report in Power BI Desktop as shown below:

But when I publish the report in Power BI service, it appears as checkbox as shown below:

Hi @bjoshi,

As stated in this article:

"Currently the numeric range slicer is only available in Power BI Desktop. If a report that uses the numeric range slicer is published to the Power BI service, the filter will still be applied but it will appear as a list slicer."

It's a limitation that numeric range slicer can't display in range mode as in desktop.

Hi @Vicky_Song,

Seems like the range slicer is working in Power BI Service now.

Hi @bjoshi,

Based on my test in service today, the numeric range slicer doesn't work in service. You can edit the report in service and add a numeric field to a slicer visual, there is no Between mode for us to choose in slicer.

The range slicer is still not working for me.  Does the PBI Desktop need to be upgraded ?  Currently on Version: 2.44.4675.521 64-bit (March, 2017).

Hi apzaya,

Its definitely best to keep the PBI Desktop to the latest version. However, the March version should work too.

Btw, make sure to use a numeric data type for the column that you are using for the slicer. Then you will get the slider option in the format menu which can be switched on and off. If you have already done this, then try removing the upload from Power BI service including the datasets and upload the report again.

Hope this helps.

The data type is numeric and is a new PBI developed today.    I did follow your recommendation of removing the dataset and report and republishing.

On the left is the web version vs the desktop on the right.

Hi apzaya,

It seems to be working for me here.

Try enabling the "Numeric range slicer" preview feature in case you haven't.

Btw, what is your region? Sometimes, the feature might not be available for your region.

We are in Ohio and the preview feature is on.
