Query Editor: function Table.FirstN(tablename, N) not working

We are using a connection (DirectQuery) with  Amazon Redshift.

We built a prototype function in queryEditor that would keep only N rows, with N=3; in particulare we used the function Table.FirstN. In the queryEditor it works fine, but if we try to see this table in an object as “matrix” in the Visualization pane, we have the following error: "Cant display the visual", "OLE DB or ODBC erro: we couldn't fold the expressioon to the data source."

How can we fix it?

Does this issue happen when using Import mode? Could you please collect the fiddler traces when you perform above repro steps in Power BI Desktop? Then share the .saz file through online file service like OneDrive.

Please also make sure that you are using the latest version 2.47.4766.801 (June 2017) of Power BI Desktop.

Best Regards,
Herbert
