Power BI dataset refresh error: "We cannot convert the value "[Function]" to type Function."

I am receiving this cryptic error when trying to update a Desktop (pbix) dataset using the Power BI server (on a personal gateway). The pbix file contains connections to ODBC data merged with SharePoint (Excel) files. Some of the ODBC tables are retrieved and formatted using a table-valued Power Query function. All of this works fine in Power BI Desktop but I receive this weird error in the Power BI service.

Any ideas?

Hi @aaronsteers,

In your scenario, did you connect to Excel in SharePoint online or on-premise SharePoint? How did you merge query and format the ODBC tables? Would you please share detail steps so that we can try to reproduce the issue?
