Power BI Desktop (January 2017) Login popup blocked

Power BI Desktop Version: 2.42.4611.701 64-bit (January 2017) Installed today.

Login window blocked by "Working on it" spinner popup after Power BI Desktop idle in background for a bit. I didn't nail down the time but both times it was over 20 minutes. The login expires after an indeterminate amount of time of inactivity, over 20 minutes at least. Clicking publish brings up the login window but is behind the "Working on it..." popup.

I have to end the task, open Power BI, click login up in the top right corner, then I can publish.

Hi all,

I was experiencing the same issue with my reports, I found that updating to the newer client fixed my issue.

Occasionally I may still get the issue however I killed the task and restarted, alternately if you login before publishing the data you shouldn't recieve this error.

Thanks,

J

The MS team have said: "Power BI Team are planning to release the fix soon. We can use the following workaround now. This freeze happens when users (who are already signed in) work on the report (or leave it idle) for more than 40 minutes without signing in or publishing. The workaround is to close Power BI or sign out then sign back in before publishing. "

Hi All,

There is a new version of PBI Desktop just released. Please download it and this issue should be fixed in this version.

This is still occurring for me after update.

I was logged in, made some changes, and saved.

When I hit the publish button, Power BI logs me out.

When I try to log back in, SQLDumper.exe console window pops up and Power BI crashes and closes.

Happens so fast, I can't get a screen shot though.

It takes several attempts to publish without crashing.

I am using Version: 2.54.4970.961 64-bit (January, 2018)
